Looks great dude! It certainly impresses even more now that it's lost that multiple-layers-of-wood-glued-together look, good sanding, and nice progress! I'm also enjoying the inside details, you really made the holes seem sinewy and organic. Overall, fantastic work, I'm thoroughly impressed, and can't wait to see more. May I ask how much this thing weighs at the moment? I know MDF isn't the lightest thing in the world...
Thanks, I'm far from being done with that prop ^^ Its weight is 8kg. So it's not too heavy, but because its length is 160cm, it will be impossible to hold it with one hand (unless you hold it straight down or straight up)
I dunno man, that's about 17.5 pounds, and that's pretty heavy for a sword prop! I fact, it sounds about as long and twice as heavy as my Ends of the Earth keyblade, and that thing isn't particularly heavy, but the size of it just makes it feel much heavier than it is, so I can feel your pain there! I don't know whether you plan on taking that thing to a con, keeping it for show, or selling it, but I can only imagine how sore your shoulder and arm would be after a day of lugging that thing around, lol! Well best of luck on completing it, I'll be watching with interest!
look again at this prop : imagine holding it in your hand, and imagine trying to rest it on your shoulder ... lmfao ^^ If I get to carry it at a con, it will be straped on my back most of the time.
Completely understandable my friend, especially since that thing has so many different edges and points, I doubt you could find a comfortable space to rest it on your shoulder without risking damage to you or it!
